The 51st World Polymer Congress IUPAC MACRO 2026 was held in Kuching (Sarawak, Malaysia) from July 28 to 31, 2026. The Congress takes place every 2 years in different countries in the world where polymer science is developed, according to the decision of the Polymer Devision of IUPAC. The main focus of the Congress in Kuching was "New polymer and innovative materials for sustainable development". The local organizer was Institut Kimia Malaysia. The Congress was attended by 850 scientists, postgraduates and students, including 250 participants from Malaysia and 600 foreign participants from 52 countries. The largest number of participants came from Malaysia, Japan, China, South Korea, Great Britain and India. Among a few representatives of the Russian Federation was the Director of the ISPM RAS, Corresponding Member of RAS Sergey Ponomarenko, who delivered a talk about novel organosilicon oligomers and polymers for organic electronics at the session "Molecules to Materials: Bridging Pure and Applied ChemistryThe Congress Program and Book of abstracts are available on the website
