25.06.2026

On June 24, 2026, the Director of ISPM RAS, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Ponomarenko, visited the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST) in Beijing, where he met with the Director of the Center, Professor Zhiyong Tan. In his welcoming remarks, Professor Zhiyong Tan emphasized that China and Russia have great potential for cooperation in the field of nanoscience and technology, noting that this year, researchers from both sides have submitted multiple applications for joint projects. Professor Zhiyong Tan emphasized that ISPM RAS has great potential in the field of molecular design and synthesis, while NCNST has built a solid foundation in investigating the properties and mechanisms of nano- and cross-scale materials. He expressed the hope that both institutes will develop complementary cooperation in fields such as energy conversion and biomedicine, leveraging their strengths to jointly advance fundamental scientific discoveries. In turn, S.A. Ponomarenko introduced the activities of the Institute to the Chinese colleagues and shared the scientific achievements in the field of self-assembled organic semiconductors.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of understanding was signed, in which the parties agreed on regular academic exchanges in such advanced fields as organic electronics and functional photonic materials. The Memorandum also provides for deepening practical cooperation in the field of personnel visits, joint research and implementation of joint projects.
